Text Neck: Don't Wreck Your Neck!

Each day we use our cell phones extensively. Seldom do we give attention to our posture while doing this...until our necks start to hurt!

When we type or scroll on our phones with our heads bent down this puts stress on our necks and when we maintain that position for a period of time and do it repetitively, our necks pay the price. The result is a stiff neck, pain between the shoulder blades or even headaches.

Suggestions to solve this include:

  1. Bring the phone closer to eye level.

  2. Use your eyes to look down, not your neck.

  3. Take regular very short breaks when using your phone and move your shoulder and neck around.
