It is very easy to forget this one. We get so busy. Sleep just seems like a huge waste of time. We spend about 8 hours/day, 56 hours/week or about 1/3 of our lives sleeping. What is the purpose of sleep?

The purpose of sleep is not clearly known. It is very much part of staying alive, restoring the body, healing, recharging the brain, lowering energy consumption and so on. It is vital to our health. Lack of sleep can make people irritable, do stupid things, think poorly and have accidents. Maybe some of the causes of those accidents were just plain lack of sleep. Lack of sleep is also associated with things like: 
Put a person in a pre-diabetic state. 
Weight gain
Weakened immune system
Increased risk for breast cancer
Hardened arteries.
High blood pressure
Heart attack
Stroke
Depression
Poor focus
Get enough QUALITY sleep and improve your health!
